Rape the Masculine Superiority Syndrome!

Inhuman, barbaric, heinous or what ever the adjective it may be, my heart will shed blood when ever it happens for my ears to hear the news of rape and murder. These horrific acts ask one very question - where are we heading as a society? With even the day-to-day affairs of feminine gender in all ages turning nightmarish, what is to be done?

The chorus cry would be, "hang the those animals!". Does harsher law - say, capital punishment, by any means will deter the ever increasing violence against non-males? I would say that it may bring a reduction in increasing crime rate. But that would be paltry. Still women would be living in an acidic environment. The need is not a paltry reduction, but banishment of such violence. By no way either capital punishment nor castration will banish the violence against women. And who to hang? More than 92% of sinners are friends, relatives, fathers , neighbors or some way known to the victim.

The need of the hour is cultural change. Only the cultural change can bring a radical change in the proliferating crime rate. First, the way men fraternity look women should change. Women are symbol of love, care and affection. But by no means they are weak. Stop the nonsense of "protecting women" kind of attitude. If society wish to teach something, definitely the students are not women. Civilize the men fraternity. Rather than putting restrictions on daughters, educate sons - women are not glamour dolls and men are not their savior. Teach sons how to cook, wash cloths and household chores. This, for sure, will eliminate the "masculine superiority syndrome". Fathers by sharing the above said with their wives can be examples for their sons.

Dressing is a reason that usually the society uses to justify such acts. Did any women complain about the dress we wear? No. So why complaining about theirs?  In that eyes even their mother would look like... (It is better to censor that word myself). Like us, they have all right to wear dress of their wish. We have no right to determine their dress code. When dress is the reason, why men force upon a three year old kid or a 70 year old grandma. Saddest thing is, women are raped from birth till their last breath by body, eyes and words.

If I have one thing to foul at government, it has to be the their policy - alcohol shops. If we look at carefully at all the crimes, more than 90% of the person involved were in the influence of alcohol or addicts. It may or maynot provoke the sexual desire, but surely will take away one's sense. Innocent children and daughters are the most vulnerable when a person is under the influence of alcohol.

Policing plays an important role in bring the crime rate down. A case must be registered as soon as any one approaches. A recent statistics by RTI shows the dismal record of police in our country. The conviction rate in rape and related cases were not even 50%. Technology and efficiency in police department should improve, a big hole that must get plugged very soon. People involved in any crime should not go unpunished. A harsher law can't, but an efficient policing can deter the proliferating crime rate.

In silver screen women are mostly objects of glamour. They are shown weak (with rare exceptions), an object of possession, a creature that always need men's shoulders to sustain in the society and masculinity means protecting and possessing them along with fighting. Rub the notion of "cinema is a reflection of society". It may be true, but only in very few cases and this is not in that very few. Cinema business needs story and not masculinity and skin.

On the whole, society - family, friends and relatives must put their effort in  bringing a change. No men lives outside the above said. After-all, I can wait for my mom/wife/daughter/friend/sister to come late but can't keep fearing their safety. Dear men folks, let us walk in a civilized path!
